They’re Millionaires

reid pelosi

The people deciding the fate of your health insurance don’t need to worry a bit about their own medical needs.  They have more money than medical insurance would ever provide.  Here’s a list of the networth of a few of your rulers.  These are some of the same ones who (as, for example, Senator Kerry) enjoy “speaking truth to power” at every opportunity.

CRP says California Republican Rep. Darrell Issa is the richest lawmaker on Capitol Hill, with a net worth estimated at about $251 million. Next in line: Rep. Jane Harman (D-Calif.), worth about $244.7 million; Sen. Herb Kohl (D-Wis.), worth about $214.5 million; Sen. Mark Warner (D-Va.), worth about $209.7 million; and Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.), worth about $208.8 million.

The next time somebody starts talking about “the party of the rich” remember this list.

The Obama Bubble

Jean-Baptiste_Chardin

“We are witnessing the most rapid destruction of a presidency in recent history, a political bubble that is bursting only now because a poorly vetted candidate with no qualifications is encountering a modicum of reality.”  Says, HughS at Wizbang

What an apt and telling metaphor, just as we’ve had financial bubbles, now we have political ones — the consequence of junk politics ….  Hope and Changes turns out to be the Enron of the American Presidency.

Why she is no longer an African American

ann-dunham-soetoro-barack-obama

Above:  Young Barack Obama with his mother, Ann Dunham Obama Soetoro.

I repost this article in its entirety though I urge you to read it at the American Thinker where I found it, as well as to read the other articles there.  Mary Baker goes against the tide in expressing these views, though she lays claim to ideas that I know are shared by other black people in this country.  Obama’s race has been used like a Trojan Horse to establish socialist government in the White House.  And the people he cheated the most with this deception are those black Americans who voted for him based on “history,” who believed that their vote was a reconciliation and a new era of full and true freedom for the descendants of slavery.  But though Obama is technically the first black American president, he will end up a footnote in the nation’s life.  We will have other black presidents.  Obama is a sign of American goodwill, of American idealism, which makes his cheating the polity even more egregious a deception.  It doesn’t matter.  Now we know, as we really knew all along, that deception lies in the heart of mankind.  The best of human idealism and the deepest of human errors are alike the common property of human beings.

So, some of us just don’t care anymore what color someone’s skin is, or what corner of the earth their ancestors once occupied.  These features are interesting in their way, like the color of one’s eyes or the sound of a person’s name. But they have no bearing upon the contents of the soul — and that’s what counts in our dealings with each other.

I salute you Mary Baker, and thank you.  And I am not white either, in any but the most incidental sense, and I thank you for realizing it.  I am just a human being, a woman, a mom, an American.  And all these things bind my life and my destiny to yours.  Our common freedom is the thing for which we both feel equal gratitude and it’s the legacy we want to give our children.  Here’s her words:

The Obama election was a milestone in our country’s history. Blacks danced in the streets, talked about feelings of finally being able to feel at home in America, and cried for the cameras. But as a black woman in the Age of Obama, I don’t see anything that reveals that Blacks in America have anything to celebrate.  I grew up in the Deep South during the 1960’s, so I’m quite aware of the issues our country faced at that time.  Blacks mourned the deaths of two of their most profound leaders, Malcolm X and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.  This was a time when those who represented the leadership of Black Americans promoted a longing for the “Motherland.” There was propaganda promoting African ancestry, even the reclassifying of Blacks as African Americans. The establishment of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 barred many of the practices of racial discrimination and Blacks began to believe that achieving the dreams that Dr. King hailed in his speeches was possible.  Black leaders such as Malcolm X and Stokely Carmichael promoted the new image of the African American through the Nation of Islam and the Black Power Movement.  Kimani Nehusi, a lecturer at the University of East London, writes,

Many Rastafari use the term ‘repatriation’ to express this longing for Africa, and a determination to return physically. However, when we examine the practice of Rastafari, we can see that the idea of a return to Africa goes beyond just repatriation, the physical resettlement on the continent of our ancestors. It also means a return to the values, culture and history of Africa, and a particular Africentric way of seeing the world. Many of these ideas have also been expressed in the work of Marcus Garvey, Malcolm X, Kwame Nkrumah and other leading fighters for the rights of Africans at home and abroad.

Fast-forward to November 4, 2008 — America elects her first African American President. Now, one would think that all has finally been laid to rest and America has once and for all times achieved racial reconciliation. But it appears that this election has resulted in even more racial division.  After observing the attitudes of African Americans and gaining an understanding of the drive to classify Black Americans as African Americans, I must now say that I can no longer identify myself as an African American because this classification holds several proclamations and principles to which I no longer identify with as a citizen of this country.  This title holds anti-American sentiments to which I cannot embrace. I have never held to the viewpoints of those from the Black Power Movement, Nation of Islam, or the Black Nationalist Movement. I don’t think about Africa, or what it would be like to live there, as I have always been content living in the country of my birth, where I grew up in a small town in Louisiana.

The classification of me as an African American says that although I live in America, my loyalty and allegiance are to Africa.  My loyalty and my allegiance are first to Jesus Christ who is the Lord and Savior of my life.  These same principles were those held by many of our Founding Fathers who held high regard for God’s protection and leadership over this nation. These are the principles that are common to the foundation of Conservatism.  As I think of my viewpoints politically, everything I believe about this country is wrapped up in my Conservative views. The tenets of the Declaration of Independence were set forth to bring equality and well being to all Americans.  And those are the principles that I embrace as an American.

It is my faith that drives everything that I believe and hold as dear.  The Founders of this country envisioned a nation that would secure the God-given rights of its citizens.  The desire that every citizen born in this country would not suffer the oppression they endured under England’s rule, set as the backdrop for guaranteeing freedom for all Americans.  The Founders especially desired that our nation would be one ruled and protected by our Creator God.  Many beg to differ, but the Founders’ insistence that God guide the ways of this nation is apparent in their acknowledgement of His hand in the creation of life, the rights of life, and the prosperity of life.

It is these principles that make me proud to just be an American.  So, I select for my identity the title of American.  The radical ideologies of Blacks involved in the Civil Rights Movement gave birth to attitudes like those of Professor Henry Lewis Gates Jr., the Harvard professor who became livid when his identity was questioned by a white police officer. Those who embrace Professor Gate’s sentiments and attitudes today are those who still believe that America owes something to the Black population for the horrors of slavery.  They are the ones that continue to stoke the fires of racial hatred toward other races and promote the continued attitude of self pity within the Black community.  They also hold to the teachings of Black Liberation Theology, a school of thought that I never knew existed until the presidential campaign of then Senator Barak Obama.  The teachings of Black Liberation Theology run counter to the American way. They also are counterproductive to the love I hold for my country.

I began to think about how we all got to be categorized in the first place.  I have not noticed on any forms that the category of American is an option to be selected.  Is this division amongst us perpetrated by our very own government?  It is obvious that the inspiration for the classification of African American has nothing to do with those born of African descent.  It is a radical group of Black Americans who hold to the anti-American views of those shared by Jeremiah Wright, Professor Gates, Jesse Jackson, President Obama and many others who came out of the radical Civil Rights Movement.

Because of these things, I now part ways with the classification of African American because I hold no allegiance to Africa.  I embrace the American qualities of freedom to worship, freedom to have my own opinion, freedom to express my views, freedom to achieve whatever it is God has created me to achieve.  I hope that I will find others like me who are willing to break ties with the things that divide us, and embrace the timeless principles that have made this country the greatest nation on earth. That is why, when the next U.S. Census occurs, I will be making a new category just for me, the classification of being an American.

Craig’s List: First of Obama’s Maoists to resign

Van-Jones-cop-hater
A certain “Craig” left a sour comment at Holycoast (“NBC Blames GOP for Van Jones’ Idiocy”) amenting the resignation of Obama Maoist, Van Jones. This was my reply:
Has Craig hitched his comment at the wrong post? What the Sam hill is he talking about?
Craig thinks that Dems have a real majority? as in they could win an election today? Must be playing lullabies on the guitar.
Are we guilty of something again? Not having “changed at all.” You can tell Craig’s getting his news from the state run medias.
These weirdo pals of our Crony in Chief are no accident. This is the warp and weft of the Obama administration, and half the people in the US still don’t know it. We who know it can hardly believe it! I never ever thought the Dems were this weird.
Never.
Also, listen to Craig’s tone. The bitterness. Amazing! His guy won. His party’s in power.
We lost, didn’t we Rick? Did I miss something? I think our guy lost … I’m pretty sure. Why are we so buoyant! Why are we so fired up? Why do I feel more than ever as though we are living through a defining moment in history — an echo of the American Revolution? That we are reconnecting with the whole notion of what liberty is, and rediscovering the true dignity of man, the sense of individual people holding the creative power of society.
Goodness, I am filled with optimism with each passing day — these Tea Parties inspire me! Ordinary citizens standing up in city after city saying Enough! We want our schools back. We want the elected officials doing the work we sent them to do — not dictating to us.I don’t want, don’t need, this intrusive greasy smarmy phoney balogny president “giving” me anything. I manage my own life, and I do it honestly — which is a darn sight more than we can say about him.

You, my neighbors afar off, how I admire you!

When I think that all over this country there are others like you! God, I am so proud. The charlatan in chief. Good democrats, good people, had the wool pulled over their eyes. My dear friends — most my friends are Dems — they don’t know about all this corruption. The newspapers they read are lying to them. Conservative sources are “uncool” and taboo.
But gradually the smoke of Obama’s magic act dissipates, and people begin to see what a fake he is — him and his creepy friends. And good Democrats will turn their backs on this guy. He cheated them more than he cheated us. Fifty nine million people voted for McCain. Obama won by a large margin at 69 million. In contrast George Bush beat Kerry with 62 million votes (to 59 million). McCain lost the Bush conservatives and yet still 59 million people voted for him. In 2000 neither candidate got anywhere close to 59 million. People are more motivated. But they were lied to.
Rush Limbaugh on his best days has 20 million listeners (13 on the routine days). People are paying attention now. Look at the NYtimes best sellers, and it’s dominated by conservative books. Who are the nations readers? Democrats?
And all this is wonderful news for this country. If Obama manages to do it, and tanks this country that his lefties hate so vehemently, tell me which demographic will build it back up again?
What part of this society possesses true grit?
Which people will be putting their back to the plow? The ninnies? The victims? The “give me” crowd? Provide my health care, give me money for a car, put me through college … those people? Who wants to be captains of their own destiny? The Dems? Keep strummin’ Craig, but we’ll not be singing your song.

Look Familiar?

Hmmmm. This Weather Underground’s terrorist logo seems sort of familiarSeptember 3, 2009, 7:25 am · 6 comments

Barack Obama says he never really knew unrepentant terrorist Bill Ayers, founder of the Weather Underground. He was just a guy around the neighborhood.

Just guy around the neighborhood who held a meeting in his home to launch Obama’s political career. Just a guy around the neighborhood who sat on several committees with Obama. Just a guy around the neighborhood whose office was in the same building as Obama’s. Just a guy around the neighborhood who babysat Obama’s kids.

Just a guy around the neighborhood whose murdering terrorist group the Weather Underground had a cool logo.

Our hat’s off to IOwnTheWorld.com for putting these logos together.

Obama’s “blame the parents” theme

obama watch who your friends are

Parents are over-reacting to the planned presidential speech to school children scheduled for September 8, announced by conservative radio on last Tuesday (which forced the White House to announce “officially” the next day).  Thus says the White House spokesman.  But actions speak louder than words.

And their “body language” says it all. Look at White House spokesman Gibbs’s response:”I think we’ve reached a little bit of the silly season when the president of the United States can’t tell kids in school to study hard and stay in school. I think both political parties agree that the dropout rate is something that threatens our long-term economic success.”

Doesn’t it sound familiar? Blame the citizen. Protests at Town Halls? Those things are called “mobs.” That parents would distrust this light-shining-from-somewhere-and-you’ll-hear-a-voice-saying-I-gotta-be-me president is “silly.”

Is it as “silly” as flag@whitehouse.gov? As silly as Van Jones schtick of Dubya on crack? As silly as candidate Obama’s fake presidential seal? How about as silly as the “Obama girl”? Or perhaps as fishy as billions of dollars disappearing down the giant maw of the IRS? That fishy, maybe?

Nah! Nothing fishy about this president!

The speech may read as boring and pedantic, now that the White House is forced to pre-release a copy.  That may have shifted their strategy into a deliberate effort to portray the conservative citizens as nervous Nellies. But if Gibbs is so concerned about our economic success, why are we wasting the school day on Pollyanna-ish drivel, why doesn’t he instead take away Obama’s credit cards — like a good parent.

I trust nothing about Obama anymore. This is the slickest, smoothest operator to come down the pike. I’ll give him plenty credit for successful deviousness of a scale unprecedented in modern history. He is the anti-Reagan — the most lying, two-faced, used car salesmanish schyster ever.

Read that prepared speech carefully, because I’m betting that the temptation to hubris is huge — they will try to put something in there — something to rankle conservatives, who are after all the ONLY people really even paying attention, and it will be clothed in innocuous seeming terms — but scratch a bit deeper, look at the metaphors, take it down the road one or two logical steps and it’ll have its creepy edge.

Fortunately, that kind of deception is over the heads of children.

Obama IS an object lesson for students.  The lesson: to watch out who you’re hangin’ out with

Bill Ayers, Jeremiah Wright, Van Jones, Ezekiel Emanuel, John Holdren, Rahm Emanuel, Kevin Jennings, James Meeks , Tony Rezko and Dr. Khalid Abdullah Tariq al-Mansour.  Obama has so many skeletons, he’s gonna need a bigger closet.  How did this guy get elected again?  I forget ….

Could you speak up! I can’t hear you, Mister President!

school master in chief
His lips are moving, but do you hear what he says? Do you wonder sometimes WHO Obama is talking to these days? The NYTimes, Washington Post, the Newshour, et al, do not cover this administration.
Spoke to a Dem friend yesterday who was unaware of the school speech controversy, unaware of flag@whitehouse.gov (hence also unaware of flatulent@whitehouse.gov!) and didn’t recognize the names of Holdren and Ezekiel Emanuel — yet earnestly, trustingly, believes that we need health care reform and that Obama will deliver … .
My friend (who is no dummy, mind you) still hasn’t heard about Obama saying “somewhere you’ll see a light and you’ll hear a voice and it will be saying you have to vote for Barack Obama.” Woah! And they think we have tin foil hats!
So, okay. The supporters — the tried and true — have no idea of the mandatory volunteerism that Raum wants to spring on us someday (having failed recently)with the “Give Me Act.” The supporters don’t know. And they think the economy is starting to improve — the Washington Post said so a couple days ago. Must be true!
Conservatives, on the contrary, watch the guy like a hawk — but an entire segment of the population has been persuaded that listening to conservative radio or reading conservative blogs is beyond the pale! So, the avoid the sources that would give them actual information, yeah. That’s very hopey/changey.
WE listen to Obama, but he’s not talking to us. The supporters are not listening, just cheering weirdly — “hopefully” — on the sidelines.
Who actually listens?Who are the cheering people in the background shots? Extras? Is it staged with Hollywood extras?! I don’t get it! Really don’t. So maybe that’s why he’s talking to kids now…? an empty gasbag in search of adulation.
The School Master in Chief to address the little children — that should provide for a very nice little elementary school snooze at the noon hour! Now it’s Fire Van Jones, the Conservatives cry. Half the Obama demographic has never heard of the guy!

The Must-read Health Care Post at Rush

obama-death-star

RUSH: Betsy McCaughey, who is one of the people doing yeoman work deciphering the contents, the details of every Democrat health care plan that’s proposed starting with Hillarycare, has another piece today in the Wall Street Journal entitled, “‘Obama’s Health Rationer-in-Chief — White House Health-Care Adviser Ezekiel Emanuel,’” brother of Rahm Emanuel, “‘Blames the Hippocratic Oath for the ‘Overuse’ of Medical Care’ — Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel, health adviser to President Barack Obama, is under scrutiny. As a bioethicist, he has written extensively about who should get medical care, who should decide, and whose life is worth saving. Dr. Emanuel is part of a school of thought that redefines a physician’s duty, insisting that it includes working for the greater good of society instead of focusing only on a patient’s needs. Many physicians find that view dangerous, and most Americans are likely to agree. The health bills being pushed through Congress put important decisions in the hands of presidential appointees like Dr. Emanuel.

They will decide what insurance plans cover, how much leeway your doctor will have, and what seniors get under Medicare. Dr. Emanuel, brother of White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel, has already been appointed to two key positions: health-policy adviser at the Office of Management and Budget and a member of the Federal Council on Comparative Effectiveness Research. He clearly will play a role guiding the White House’s health initiative. Dr. Emanuel says that health reform will not be pain free, and that the usual recommendations for cutting medical spending (often urged by the president) are mere window dressing. As he wrote in the Feb. 27, 2008, issue of the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA): ‘Vague promises of savings from cutting waste, enhancing prevention and wellness, installing electronic medical records and improving quality of care are merely ‘lipstick’ cost control, more for show and public relations than for true change.’

“True reform, he argues, must include redefining doctors’ ethical obligations. In the June 18, 2008, issue of JAMA, Dr. Emanuel blames the Hippocratic Oath for the ‘overuse’ of medical care: ‘Medical school education and post graduate education emphasize thoroughness,’ he writes. ‘This culture is further reinforced by a unique understanding of professional obligations, specifically the Hippocratic Oath’s admonition to ‘use my power to help the sick to the best of my ability and judgment’ as an imperative to do everything for the patient regardless of cost or effect on others.’ In numerous writings, Dr. Emanuel chastises physicians for thinking only about their own patient’s needs. … Dr. Emanuel believes doctors should serve two masters, the patient and society, and that medical students should be trained ‘to provide socially sustainable, cost-effective care.’ One sign of progress he sees: ‘the progression in end-of-life care mentality from ‘do everything’ to more palliative care shows that change in physician norms and practices is possible.’”

Here is your death panel head honcho!  He’s Obama’s lead advisor.  I don’t want anybody to ever call here again and tell me there aren’t death panels.  We’ve got a guy who says the problem with health care is the Hippocratic oath, and that doctors need to be retrained. They need to rethink end-of-life treatment and what’s better for society at large rather than what’s better for the individual patient.  “‘In the next decade every country will face very hard choices about how to allocate scarce medical resources. There is no consensus about what substantive principles should be used to establish priorities for allocations,’ he wrote in the New England Journal of Medicine, Sept. 19, 2002. Yet Dr. Emanuel writes at length about who should set the rules, who should get care, and who should be at the back of the line. ‘You can’t avoid these questions,’ Dr. Emanuel said in an Aug. 16 Washington Post interview.

“‘We had a big controversy in the United States when there was a limited number of dialysis machines. In Seattle, they appointed what they called a ‘God committee’ to choose who should get it, and that committee was eventually abandoned. Society ended up paying the whole bill for dialysis instead of having people make those decisions.’”  So what happened?  Did we get more machines because the market demanded it?  “Dr. Emanuel argues that to make such decisions, the focus cannot be only on the worth of the individual. He proposes adding the communitarian perspective to ensure that medical resources will be allocated in a way that keeps society going: ‘Substantively, it suggests services that promote the continuation of the polity — those that ensure healthy future generations, ensure development of practical reasoning skills, and ensure full and active participation by citizens in public deliberations… An obvious example is not guaranteeing health services to patients with dementia.’ …

“In the Lancet, Jan. 31, 2009, Dr. Emanuel and co-authors presented a ‘complete lives system’ for the allocation of very scarce resources, such as kidneys, vaccines, dialysis machines, intensive care beds, and others. ‘One maximizing strategy involves saving the most individual lives, and it has motivated policies on allocation of influenza vaccines and responses to bioterrorism. … Other things being equal, we should always save five lives rather than one. ‘However, other things are rarely equal — whether to save one 20-year-old, who might live another 60 years, if saved, or three 70-year-olds, who could only live for another 10 years each — is unclear.’” Unclear?  They’re thinking about it!  It’s perfectly clear what their thinking is on this, and this is the guy that’s the number one health care adviser to Obama.

And they can sit out there and deny death panels all they want, but his number one adviser is saying: We treat too many people and we gotta change the focus.  “Dr. Emanuel concedes that his plan appears to discriminate against older people, but he explains: ‘Unlike allocation by sex or race, allocation by age is not invidious discrimination. … Treating 65 year olds differently because of stereotypes or falsehoods would be ageist; treating them differently because they have already had more life-years is not.’ The youngest are also put at the back of the line: ‘Adolescents have received substantial education and parental care, investments that will be wasted without a complete life.” Do you understand? We are robots!  He is looking at individual Americans, “Okay, how much has the government invested in them? How much has the government invested in educating them?”

Not their parents, not your family. How much has Washington, how much has the government invested if getting you born, in providing for you after you were born, in educating you?  And if the government’s invested a lot in you they have a reasonable expectation of a return on the investment so you might get health care, if you’re young.  If you’re old, forget it.  That’s why people are showing up at the town hall meetings because people know all of this.  “Dr. Emanuel has fought for a government takeover of health care for over a decade. In 1993, he urged that President Bill Clinton impose a wage and price freeze on health care to force parties to the table. ‘The desire to be rid of the freeze will do much to concentrate the mind,’ he wrote with another author in a Feb. 8, 1993, Washington Post op-ed. Now he recommends arm-twisting Chicago style.

“‘Every favor to a constituency should be linked to support for the health-care reform agenda,’ he wrote last Nov. 16 in the Health Care Watch Blog. ‘If the automakers want a bailout, then they and their suppliers have to agree to support and lobby for the administration’s health-reform effort.’” This is what he’s advocating: This miniature version of fascism.  This is the man who’s the number one adviser to Obama on health care, the brother of the chief of staff Rahm Emanuel.  Make no mistake where this is headed. Make no mistake. Obama’s got cover.  He’s got all these other lackeys out saying these things while he’s on stage claiming, “No, no, no, there’s not going to be death panels! It’s outrageous.  I can’t believe people are misquoting me, misinformation, the lying, and all of these targets my plan that are being lied about,” and they’re not being lied about, and this is not what the American people want.  Go ahead, put Ted Kennedy’s name on this bill and make this the most hypocritical decision you’ve ever made.

RUSH: Back to the phones we go to Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Hi Vickie, great to have you with us today.

CALLER:  Hi, Rush.  I’m just angry.  I love talking to you.  But let’s say they do it, they force it through against the will of the American people, which is shown overwhelmingly in every poll in the country.  They do it anyway.  I understand that they can and probably will most likely be voted out when they come up for election, virtually every one of them, I believe.  And conservatives will be sent in in their place with an overwhelming mandate to get rid of it, get rid of government-run health care.  However, in the meantime there are people in this country, people with courage, anger, and a brain who will not partake, who will not cooperate.  Just like there are people who will not answer the questions in the census.  There are doctors and patients who will not do what they’re supposed to do.  What will the government do about these millions of people?

RUSH:  Now, that is an interesting question.  The first thing to stipulate here is that if the bill passes, if it passes as it’s planned now, it will be four years before it’s implemented.  And this is one of the reasons we ask, “What the hell is the hurry here?  The thing doesn’t get implemented until 2013, what’s the big deal?”  They wanted to get it implemented before all this rotten economic news and debt and deficit news hit.  That is an interesting proposition.  There will be a number of people who will just refuse to play, and they will become targets of the government.  Now, with the empowerment of the IRS on here, you remember the IRS, if you don’t play, you are going to pay.  They are going to fine you, they’re going to charge you as much as $2,500 to $8,000 a year taxes. The IRS is already an agency that is in existence that has a lot of people intimidated.  I mean people do not want to get audited, people will pay their taxes, they’re scared to death of the IRS, government’s successfully built up this fear of the IRS over the years and that’s why the IRS is the number one enforcer here because they’ve already got –

CALLER:  Except, except that there are people with courage and anger enough to say, “Screw you, I don’t do it, put me in jail,” and they put, what, thousands and thousands of people in jail?  What are they going to do?  Have them all fired?  What can they do?  I don’t have enough money to pay them anything.

RUSH:  Wait a second.  Wait a second.  If this bill passes, I’m glad you asked the question.  They’re going to have access to your bank account.

CALLER:  How?

RUSH:  They’re going to have digital online access to your bank account.  I mean there are hideous things in this piece of legislation.

RUSH:  How do they get it?
RUSH:  My friends, don’t doubt me on this bank business.  Remember, the Obama administration succeeded in destroying Swiss banking.  United Bank of Scotland gave up all those names of private accounts held by Americans so that Obama can collect their taxes, see if they’re evading taxes.  Now, they own all the banks, anyway, for crying out loud.  How many banks does Obama own?  Now, something else.  You know, Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel’s plan is already being carried out.  The UAW.  United Auto Workers wanted their retirement pension fund bailed out to the tune of $10 billion, and they got it.  It’s hidden in the health care reform bill, and they got it in exchange for supporting Obama’s health care plan.  “The UAW was among a number of unions to meet with Obama at the White House on July 13th –” this is in the Detroit News, by the way “– to discuss health care reform and other issues.  UAW legislative director Alan Reuther said last week the UAW had already taken an active role in pushing for health care reform.”

CALLER:  How do they get access to my bank account?

RUSH:  They order every bank to turn over every account number to the IRS and they’re going to be able to go in and if you don’t pay they’re going to debit your account for you.

CALLER:  So you don’t have any money, what do you do?  There are people like my son who is 30 years old, he’s professional, he’s working, he’s upper middle class –

RUSH:  They will garnish your wages.  What does the IRS do now when you’re in arrears?

CALLER:  Yeah, but if you’re working for yourself, and you don’t pay, what are they going to do, put thousands of people in jail?

RUSH:  No, they’re going to fine you.  They’re going to make sure that you pay.  Even if you can’t pay they’re going to get their money and you’re going to be in debt.

CALLER:  Do they say, you owe us and now we’re going to leave you alone?

RUSH:  No.  They’re going to take money that you don’t have and put you in debt.  Put a lean on your house or any number of things they can do, put a lean on your house, they can take away a car, whatever.

CALLER:  But seriously, Rush, are you seriously saying that all of the people that have gone to these town hall meetings who are angry enough –

RUSH:  No.

CALLER:  — who have been shown to be in the millions.

RUSH:  No, no.

CALLER:  They will all have their cars taken away; they will all have their jobs taken away; they will all be in debt?

RUSH:  No.  I’m saying that if that effort is made you’re going to have even more angry people and you might end up with a revolution.

CALLER:  There you go.  That’s my answer.  Thank you.

RUSH:  All right.  See, I just had to string you along to a commercial break here.

So Ezekiel Emanuel’s plan, “You want to be treated favorably, then you gotta support our plan.”  The UAW, no-brainer here, I mean they’re Obama supporters, but what they got out of it is a $10 billion bailout, essentially, of their pension fund, which is in trouble.  The story is three days ago.  “The United Auto Workers is urging its members to back efforts in Congress to reform health care coverage, citing a provision that includes $10 billion to defray the medical costs of union members and others in retiree group health care associations.” So they pledge their support for Obamacare, and bammo, they get a provision in the bill.  And this is how Obama’s doing it with Big Pharma and a number of others.  It’s got even some of the liberals out there a little bit in a tizzy because they hate corporations

CALLER:  Thank you.  Good afternoon.  First-time caller.  I’m a group health insurance broker, Rush, and what we are experiencing right now, obviously, besides the fight of our absolute lives we are experiencing out of 111 groups that my small agency services, we’re finding that more and more of them are calling or, as we speak to them, they’re understanding and appreciating their type of health coverage much better than they did just say 12 months ago.  And I really credit this to the fact of these town hall meetings that some of them have said they have attended.  My father, who is also my partner, has attended.  I have not been able to ’cause I do spend a good portion of my time on the road.  But this has been, I’m sorry to say, this has been good for our business at this point.  Now, obviously should a single payer, a universal health care system go into play –

RUSH:  Yeah, you can kiss your business good-bye.

CALLER:  Yes, sir, you’re right, and, you know, I’m a sole provider in my family with an autistic child, and my health insurance, though I sell the company in which I have my insurance through, doesn’t provide for my son, because of state law, you know –

RUSH:  See?  State law prevents your company from covering autism.

CALLER:  Yes, sir.

RUSH:  Is that right?

CALLER:  Well, now, it covers it but because my group is not 50 or more, my insurer is not required.

RUSH:  I got you.

CALLER:  I’m not complaining about that, Mr. Limbaugh.

RUSH:  No, no, I understand that.  No, your point is that a year ago people thought their health care sucked, that their insurance was a rip-off, and now they see what’s going to be done, “Oh, no, no, we like it.”  They’re telling you, “No, no, don’t touch it, we like it.”

CALLER:  Out of 111 groups, Mr. Limbaugh, we have one out of 111, one is opening for this universal health care.  Now, I suspect that –

RUSH:  What’s the average age of that group?

CALLER:  The average age, knowing the group leader, group leader is probably about my age, which is 38.

RUSH:  Okay.  So he’s just a brain dead liberal then, has to be.

CALLER:  Well, you know, in case he’s listening to you, which I would truthfully doubt, I would have — yes, sir.  Yes, sir.

RUSH:  Granted.  That’s why you know he’s not listening, he’s a brain dead liberal.  But I will bet you, I will bet you you’ll be surprised.  If he’s not listening he’ll hear about it because you obviously have a lot of friends and you have a lot of associates, you got 111 groups out there that you insure.

CALLER:  Yes, sir, we do –

RUSH:  And there’s some 38-year-old numskull out there in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, somebody will know who he is.

CALLER:  (laughing)  Well, yeah, but out of 111 groups he’s the only one that has expressed interest in wanting that.  I’ve had conversations with him, and it came to a point I was beating my head up against a well, I can’t discuss this with him.  He doesn’t hear me, he doesn’t listen.  And so, you know, if I lose one group out of that we’ll continue, but, you know, Ms. Pelosi –

RUSH:  Let me tell you something.

CALLER:  — has her way and the president, we’re already making strategy changes here to go to a property casualty. I’m opening up a property and casualty side on it as well.

RUSH:  And what country are you moving to?

CALLER:  (laughing)  I am not leaving.  I am staying here and will fight the fight.

RUSH:  I know.  I was just kidding –

CALLER:  I love our country, we have a great country, I have a great state, and I’m proud of my city, and I don’t like the naysayers but you know they’re out there.

RUSH:  Well, I’m glad you called.

CALLER:  Thank you.

RUSH:  I appreciate it and you will hear from that 38-year-old guy.

CALLER:  Oh, I’m sure I will.

RUSH:  If he doesn’t hear it himself he’ll hear about it.  Did you know that Rush Limbaugh was talking about you? “Why, what did I do?”  You’re a numskull on national health care, that’s why.  The whole country knows it.  They just don’t know your name.

I’ve copied the entire post.  But the original is here, with graphics and the usual Rush atmosphere.

Chairman Obama to address school children on September 8?

chairman-obama

There’s a rumor going around the internet that Obama will address school children on September 8. Lesson plans provided ostensibly by the Department of Education are appearing on websites and blog sites and being reported at Hannity and Drudge.

I can hardly believe this is true — which is why I’m characterizing it as a rumor at this point. Of course I couldn’t believe the spy-on-your-neighbors at flag@whitehouse.gov either which — as all those of us who are paying attention know — was reall!

Should parents boycott school on September 8th — maybe kids could have a case of the Swine flu that miraculously goes away on September 9th? Thoughts, fellow parents? Or should our kids attend school and go along and come home and give us the skinny on what the school did?

I would love to hear from others. What are your plans?

The democrats must be incredibly insecure about their governance to stoop this low. It looks so much like the tactics of Communist China under Mao (the leader that Bill Ayers, who is only just so casually acquainted with Obama, hardly knows him at all, notwithstanding all the years they served together on a board during which time they hardly noticed each other, nor their living in the same RICH Hyde Park neighborhood, nor Obama’s staging the debut of his campaign in the Ayers’s living room) — as I was saying — Mao was Bill Ayers’s special hero. And Ayers is very influential in “education” circles.

But I’m sure it’s just a coincidence.
